Course Description

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to assess intervention needs, and then to implement and monitor brief intervention strategies for people at various stages of the change process.

This unit applies to workers in a range of community services contexts.

This course is delivered and assessed as a cluster with:

- CHCAOD009 Develop and review AOD treatment plans 
- CHCCCS014 Provide brief interventions

Details of Learning Activities

Classes where information is shared through talks and discussions, and workshops where exercises
are conducted to apply learning. Time is spent during classes and workshops for students to work on
group and individual assessment tasks.
