Course Description
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to work with basic information about the human body and to recognise and promote ways to maintain healthy functioning of the body.
This unit applies to any worker who needs to use and interpret information that includes references to client anatomy and physiology.

This course will be delivered completely online.
A combination of activities will support students learning in this course, such as:
- Online lectures to cover theoretical and practical concepts for each topic in the course. The students will be provided with self-study materials as well.
- self paced learning.
- Tutorial activities (individually and in teams) to discuss, debate, critique and consolidate your ideas and extend your understanding around key concepts within specific topics
- Online discussion and activities support you to collaborate with other students in your course and debate and debate and discuss ideas (optional activities only)
- Self-directed study time to enhance and strengthen your knowledge and understanding of theoretical concepts
- To further facilitate learning, students are strongly encouraged to use a range of communication tools between themselves and their course instructor as well as between themselves and fellow students by using the online learning platform
Teaching Schedule
The course will be delivered online with online support from the teacher. This includes:
- Online content which you can do at your own pace including viewing instructional videos and engaging in online activities (the online learning system you are using is called “Canvas”)
- Online class sessions via collaborate ultra in which you interact with your course teacher and fellow students.

Overview of Assessment
You must demonstrate Performance and Knowledge Evidence of the unit in order to be deemed competent.
Assessment methods have been designed to measure achievement of each competency in a flexible manner over a range of assessment tasks.

Competency based training requires you to be in attendance in order for assessment to be undertaken.
Assessment Tasks
There are four assessment tasks that you must successfully complete in full in order to be deemed competent in this unit:
This assessment task allows you to demonstrate your knowledge of healthy body systems, common issues affecting body systems, and ways to promote healthy functioning of the body.
When you open the assessments from the links in the assessment page, they will open in a new window.
You can complete the assessment tasks in your own time and submit but they must all be submitted by their respective due dates
The students will receive satisfactory/ not yet satisfactory result for each assessment task. The students can receive Competency achieved/ Not yet competent result for this competency.
The details about the assessments will be posted on canvas.
The students are required to receive satisfactory result in each task to receive a competency achieved result for this unit.
Students enrolled in Vocational Education and Training qualifications are assessed for Competency. To be assessed as Competent means you have consistently demonstrated the required knowledge and skills at a standard expected in the workplace.
To be assessed as Competent in this course, you will need to complete each assessment task to a satisfactory standard. You will receive feedback from the teacher at the conclusion of each assessment task.
Results that apply to courses that are delivered and assessed in accordance with competency-based assessment are:

This course is delivered completely online but there will be one introductory online class session that will be informed through "announcements" in Canvas.

Extensions of time for submission of assessable work:
If you are prevented from submitting an assessment on time by circumstances outside your control you may apply for an extension of up to seven (7) calendar days in writing (email) to your Program Coordinator one working day BEFORE the due date.
