Assessment Tasks

A comprehensive assessment document with all requirements will be provided at the commencement of classes and uploaded to the Canvas shell. This section will just provide a high-level summary of the assessment tasks. This unit is delivered as a clustered unit with TAEASS401, TAEASS402, TAEASS403, and TAEASS502.

Assessment Task 1: Plan assessment (RPL) for unit BSBTWK201 This task is based on a case study provided. You may work on your own or with one or two others to:
1. plan an RPL assessment based on the unit of competency:BSBTWK201 Work effectively with others
2. develop one instrument—a portfolio checklist—to support your RPL assessment plan.

1. validate a draft assessment tool that covers the unit of competency: BSBTWK201 Work effectively with others

2. document your validation findings.

Assessment Task 4: Plan, design and develop an RPL assessment tool for unit BSBEC201

2. design, develop, trial and finalise an RPL assessment tool that supports your RPL assessment plan.
You will complete this task with guidance and supervision from your TAE program leader. You will have
some time during training to plan and develop your tool, you will need to finish drafting and finalising your
assessment tool on your own time.

Assessment Task 5: Assess competence x2 (RPL) against unit BSBWRT311 You will assess competence of two RPL candidates. Your candidates will be two other TAE participants.
Unit of competency: BSBWRT311 Write simple documents
Assessment Task 6: Validate an assessment tool for unit BSBWRT311 You will work with one or two other TAE participants to validate the assessment tool that you used to
assess competence in ASS Task 05. For unit: BSBWRT311 Write simple documents.
Assessment Task 7: Plan, design and develop an assessment tool – own choice of unit  You will plan, design, develop, trial and finalise an assessment tool based on a current, nationally-
endorsed unit of competency that is relevant to your industry or area of expertise.
Assessment Task 8: Assess competence x3 – own choice of unit You will assess competence of three (3) candidates, using a trialled assessment tool that covers at least
one unit of competency from a nationally-recognised training package. Suggest you use yours from AT07.
Assessment Task 9: Validate an assessment tool – the one used in your Assessment Task 08 You will work with one or two other TAE participants or with others in your workplace to validate the
assessment tool used to assess competence in ASS task 08.
Assessment Task 10: Plan, design and develop an assessment tool – another own choice
You will plan, design, develop, trial and finalise an assessment tool based on a current, nationally-
endorsed unit of competency that is relevant to your industry or area of expertise, not already used in your
responses for Tasks 1, 2, 4 or 7..
Assessment Task 11: ASS Knowledge questions.  The knowledge questions are paragraph-style questions that cover comprehension of concepts relevant to
this cluster, and your understanding of how to apply them. We suggest that you begin work on the questions
early, and continuously add to or refine your responses as we cover relevant concepts in training.
