Course Description

In this course you will learn how to identify the quality of various fibres, yarns and fabrics and the way production of these impacts the textile product. You will also learn how to conduct simple testing methods and procedures, to identify various textile properties found in knitted, woven and various non-woven textiles.   This course consists of 2 Units of Competency that are clustered together for delivery and assessment. The other Unit of Competency in this clustered course is: MSTGN2013 Identify fibres, fabrics and textiles used in the TCF industry

Learning Outcomes


On successful completion of this course you will have developed and applied the skills and knowledge required to conduct simple testing methods and procedures on a variety of fibres, yarns and fabrics. You will be able to apply correct labelling of textiles products using the Australian Standards and identify faults within the production process that impact the quality of the textile.
