Course Description

This unit describes the skills and knowledge to examine the major body systems, the organs which belong to them and their functions.

Details for each assessment task will be discussed in the class room.

AT-1- This assessment task is based on the practical work that you will be doing in the class. The aim of the experiment is to understand how the respiratory, digestive and cardiovascular systems work together. After completing the practical, you will write the report and answer the questions given in the report

AT-2- This assessment task is based on the knowledge you have attained till week 7. This assessment task includes multiple choice questions, diagram labelling questions and short answer questions. This is a closed book assessment task.

AT-3- This assessment task includes preparation of a poster with the information required as advised in the assessment guidelines and also analysis of posters of your fellow students.

AT-4-This assessment task is based on the knowledge you have attained from week 9-week 14. This assessment task includes multiple choice questions, diagram labelling questions and short answer questions. This is a closed book assessment task.

To pass the course you need achieve a satisfactory result for every assessment.
You will be given only two attempts for each assessment to demonstrate you have the required skills.

The resubmission is given at the discretion of teacher and the student needs to demonstrate a good understanding of the knowledge required for the assessment task to be granted a resubmission. 

A third attempt can only be offered after discussions between the teacher and the Program Coordinator and is not automatic.

Submission of Assessment Tasks

It is expected that any work presented for assessment in this course will be your own. Plagiarism is the presentation of the work, idea or creation of another person as though it is your own. It is a form of cheating and is a very serious academic offence that may lead to expulsion from the University.
