Course Description
In this course you will develop the skills and knowledge required to perform basic editing functions for media productions. This involves preparing source materials to be edited and completing basic edits according to production requirements.
The course applies to those who are responsible for digitising, cutting and logging pre-recorded image and audio content under the direction of an experienced editor. Within clearly defined parameters, individuals also edit content using the basic functions of editing software.

Overview of Assessment
Assessment for this course is ongoing throughout the semester. Your knowledge and understanding of course content is assessed through participation in class exercises, oral presentations and through the application of learned skills and insights to your written tasks. Assessment Tasks
