Course Description

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to apply different techniques to produce technical drawings that meet required standards and conventions. It involves planning and preparing for technical drawing activities, creating technical drawings and finalising them according to project requirements.

The unit applies to those who use technical drawings in different contexts to meet project requirements

Learning activities will take place this semester with a blended classroom model using industry standard tools and resources.

Reference mode of delivery for this course is a blended approach / studio-based delivery.

You will need to achieve satisfactory in all the assessments to be deemed competent in this course.

AT1 Drafting Practices Report  - Due week 6

Research and report on Australian standard drafting practices

 

AT2 Bathroom Renovation plans - Due Hard copy week 10 & digital week 16

Create a set of working drawings of a residential bathroom  using both a manual and digital tools

Compulsory WIP (Work in Progress)

Throughout this course there are associated learning activities or exercises that are compulsory

They will be identified as a Compulsory WIP.

These exercises/activities must be completed in a timely manner as indicated in the weekly schedule to allow you to build knowledge and progress to the formal assessment.

 

Even if you complete and pass the formal assessment, if you haven’t completed the WIP you are unable to pass this course overall.
