Course Description
In this course students develop the expression of ideas through the application of an extended range of printmaking processes, and at an increasingly sophisticated level while Health and Safety will continue to be addressed.
Students will be encouraged to explore the possibilities of printmaking through a lateral approach to the subject. Students will be given instruction in digital (Photoshop) and traditional technologies. Students will also be introduced to the idea of the exchange portfolio print. Emphasis will be placed on the students becoming more independent in their studio practice, as well as developing critical evaluation skills through participation in a group tutorial and regular individual tutorials. A book binding workshop will be held during the semester.

Details of Learning Activities
Students will be encouraged to explore the possibilities of printmaking through a lateral approach to the subject.
Students will extend their understanding of the unique possibilities with printmaking and the multiple.
Students will gain an understanding of the screen printing process.
Health and Safety will continue to be addressed.
Students will develop research and technical skills which will allow them to effectively solve particular visual problems and conceptual concerns.
Students are encouraged to develop critical evaluation and articulation skills.

Assessment Tasks
Project 1 - Completion of three resolved images of an edition of a minimum of three.
Students will demonstrate an appropriate level of understanding of the processes, skills and techniques of the methods of screen printing introduced. These may be incorporated into the finished works or
Project 2 - Completion of two resolved image : one monochromatic, one multi-colour

All projects must demonstrate sustained investigation.
