Course Description
The course offers an extensive study in understanding knitted fabric trends, engineering of a knitwear products by utilising knowledge of yarn selection, loop formation, calculation of the requirements of raw materials. It includes a study on different categories of production methods of knitwear garments, use of CAD/CAM systems to design and produce a range of knitwear fabrics

Overview of Assessment
Students will study CAD/CAM programming methods in knitwear production, conduct research on knitted, design and develop a range of knitwear products according to the identified trends, develop a computer program for production of knitwear through practical experimentation and computer simulations, prescribed exercises and assessment work. Students will be guided through the processes of CAD/CAM and machine knitting.
