Course Description

This course covers the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to produce technical photoimages for institutional clients.

technical photoimaging projects and confirm with

management procedures and workflow requirements
for a range of technical photoimaging projects.
1.3 Prepare appropriate budget/quote/contract for shoot.

Overview of Assessment

Assessment will be ongoing and involve individual and group projects.


Assessment Tasks

1. Canon /Nikon Speedlight Location Portrait ( to time limit ) -  FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT
      During class time you are to photograph a portrait of a fellow class mate, using a combination
      of Speedlite and available light. You will have a time limit to complete the task at a location
      chosen by RobL . You are to use only the equipment provided. Nikon users can share Nikon
      Speedlites and controllers between themselves but other than that use only the gear
      provided. You will be observed by class and on a stopwatch.
      Format:    Digital
      Submission : 1x  10x8” colour print with a RGB 25mb tiff and JPEG 72dpi, 500 pixel width
           
                             
2.  Broncolour Mobil Portrait   ( to time limit ) -  FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT
      During  class time you are to photograph a portrait, using the Broncolor Mobil Unit and
      equipment provided. You will have a time limit to complete the task at a location chosen by
      RobL. You will be observed by the class and on a stopwatch. You are welcome to invite an
      outsider to be your model.
      Format:    Digital
      Submission : 1x  10x8” colour print with a RGB 25mb tiff and JPEG 72dpi, 500 pixel width
          
   
3. Contextural Portrait ( Location Portrait)
      Using either Canon / Nikon Speedlites or the Broncolor Mobil unit shoot a portrait on location 
      of someone linking the subject to his or her work or profession. Your result must portray eye-
      contact with the person and their profession or workplace circumstance.
      Format:    Digital
      Submission : 1x  10x8” colour print with a RGB 25mb tiff and JPEG 72dpi, 500 pixel width
        
4. Liquid
     During class time shoot a photograph where the dominant feature is liquid.  (see handout)

      Submission : 1x  10x8” colour print with a RGB 25mb tiff and JPEG 72dpi, 500 pixel width
           
                            
5. Macro – Studio.
    During class time shoot TWO photographs exploring the wonder of close-up, it can be
    biological, or man-made. It can be abstract in execution and must be 1X Magnification or
    greater.
    Format:    Digital
    Submission : 1x  10x8” colour print with a RGB 25mb tiff and JPEG 72dpi, 500 pixel width

Assessment tasks in this course are either formative or summative. Formative tasks provide the basis for ongoing feedback and can be considered a essential building blocks for the more substantial summative assessent tasks. Summative assessment tasks in this unit are graded. Grading Table
