Course Description
This unit covers management of natural area restoration programs and defines the standard required to carry out a site assessment for restoration; select vegetation restoration techniques; plan a natural area restoration program; calculate staff and resources required; supervise natural area restoration works; and review natural area restoration program against issues identified in the management plan for the area.

Learning Outcomes
Details of Learning Activities
After a staged introduction to the underpinning knowledge and skills required to effectively 1. Inspect and assess a site for restoration, 2. Plan a restoration program, 3. Monitor and review restoration works, students will gain practical experience in an actual restoration program.
Weekly attendance at scheduled classes and Field Trips will be essential for you to build competency in this Course.
The Field trips and practical work components of the Course will require you to dress appropriately to the conditions and behave in a safe and responsible manner. You will be given clear instructions on how to achieve this requirement.
You will need to complete all Assessments to a satisfactory level to be awarded competency in this Course.
Online resources will be made available on the RMIT Blackboard (Learning hub) system as required. You should get into the habit of accessing Blackboard on a regular basis in order to keep in touch with lesson notes, assessment information, and general announcements relevant to the smooth running of this Course.
