Course Description
In this course you will develop the skills and knowledge required to devise, set up, coordinate, deliver and evaluate activities and programs for individuals and groups.
This unit is taught and assessed in a cluster with:
CHCYTH005 - Develop and implement procedures to enable young people to address their needs
CHCYTH008 - Support young people to take collective action
CHCDEV002 - Analyse sociological factors on clients in community work and services
CHCYTH011 - Work effectively with young people and their families
CHCYTH012 - Manage service response to young people in crisis
Students Typically do 160 hours of work placement undertaking youth work practice support the learning and assessment of these units

What is a family? Establish relationship with the young person and nominated carer/family members Provide information to the young person and family in a factual, clear and ethical manner. You will be given two (2) attempts for each assessment to demonstrate the required skills. A third (3rd) attempt can only be offered after discussions between teacher and the Program Coordinator and is not automatic. Resubmissions beyond two (2) attempts are at the discretion of the teacher and/or coordinator.
