Course Description

This course is designed to extend and reinforce the relationship between ideas, source information and the manipulation of the materials in the production of sculpture. You will be encouraged to extend their language, terminology and visual elements of sculpture and to understand adaptive properties and characteristics of materials.

Overview of Assessment

Assessment is on-going throughout the course. Assessment will incorporate a range of methods to assess performance and the application of knowledge and skills and will include:

  • Practical tasks, a major project which includes a installation and site specific work
  • Direct observation including exploration of and experimentation with techniques
  • Completion of a portfolio including personal reflection
  • Complete practical work based on thematic concepts
  • Written journal
