Overview of Assessment

Assessment Task 1 – Knowledge assessment - Anatomy Portfolio
Assessment Task 2 – Skills assessment tasks
Assessment Tasks
Assessment Task 1 – Anatomy portfolio
This task is a portfolio assessment and students are required to complete this outside of contact hours and submitted online. In order to satisfy the student must successfully complete this portfolio assessment answering ALL criteria listed for each muscle (origin, insertion, action, synergist, trigger points and their referral patterns) , the ROM (active, passive, resisted with expected degrees) and special tests for EACH region of the body. The student will be assessed on their ability to demonstrate an understanding of their anatomical knowledge. Pass mark is 100%.
Assessment Task 2 – Clinic observation checklist
This assessment task is to be conducted in student clinic. Students will be asked to explain and perform remedial massage techniques to the clients. Your clinic supervisor will be observing your skills and knowledge pertaining your understanding of the treatment techniques you are providing. You must receive a mark of S (Satisfactory) throughout the assessment in all criteria. If a student receives a NYS (Not Yet Satisfactory) for any of the skills, or takes longer than the allocated time to complete all sections, they will be deemed not yet satisfactory for this assessment.
Assessment Task 3 (3.1-3.7)- Skill Assessment
This assessment task is to be conducted in a simulated clinical environment in Building 51, Level 7, Room 3.
Assessment Task 3.1-3.5
Students will be asked to perform the full assessment and required treatment for a region of the body. You will be required to answer questions related to the region and perform palpation of muscles. To be deemed satisfactory in this assessment, you must demonstrate skills listed in the marking sheet.
You will be given a timeframe to complete the task. During this time the assessors will be observing your skills and asking questions pertaining to your understanding of the treatment you are providing.
Assessment Task 3.6

You will be required to answer questions related to the region and perform palpation of muscles. To be deemed satisfactory in this assessment, you must demonstrate skills listed in the marking sheet.
You will be given a timeframe to complete the task. During this time the assessors will be observing your skills and asking questions pertaining to your understanding of the treatment you are providing.
Assessment Task 3.7 CORRECTIVE EXERCISES
