There are no pre-requisites for this unit. 

Course Description

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to adapt remedial massage assessment and treatment strategies to meet the needs of clients of different genders and at different stages of life. It also includes the requirement to be able to identify and respond to other specific needs with which the practitioner may be unfamiliar.

This unit applies to remedial massage therapists.

The skills in this unit must be applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian/New Zealand standards and industry codes of practice.

Overview of Assessment

The skills and knowledge to be assessed within this unit replicate real work skills within the industry. 

Assessment Tasks:

2. Negotiated Assessment: Specific research and treatment options


Assessment Tasks

Assessment task 1.  A minimum of 3 sets of specific skills relating to the case studies in class must be observed in class time.  You will record you assessment on a client first assessment  form.This will then be uploaded onto Canvas 

Assessment 1:  date 9/7/2018 - 13/08/2018

Assessment Task 2. The negotiated assessment must be submitted on the final day of class depending on the group. A presentation of your power point will be timetabled . You will then proceed to treat a client ( role play ) who presents at your clinic with your chosen pathology. All treatment forms and power point presentations will be uploaded onto Canvas.
