Overview of Assessment
Assessment is on-going throughout the course. Assessment will incorporate a range of methods to assess performance and the application of knowledge and skills.
Assessment tasks include a research project and presentation.
The RMIT assessment charter summarises your responsibilities as a student as well as those of your teachers.
Assessment Tasks
To demonstrate competency in this course you will need to complete the following pieces of assessment to a satisfactory standard. You will receive feedback from your teacher at the conclusion of each assessment task.
All assessment tasks must be submitted electronically. Files must be saved as a PDF and clearly labelled.
e.g. AT01_History_SamBlack_Team1B_19
(Assessment Task Number - Course - Student Name - Team - Year)
Files must be submitted onto the History canvas shell on the due date. This will be discussed further in our Lecture.
This course has 2 Satisfactory / Not Satisfactory assessment tasks.
Assessment Task 1 (AT01) - Design Periods. (Individual Task) Due week 4
You will research and analyse a selection of design/art periods and generate appropriate visual responses as a Visual Merchandiser. This assessment task also requires you to source and research locations for a fashion shoot that relates to a chosen design decade.
Assessment Task 2 (AT02) - Design Presentation. (Individual Task + Team Work) Due weeks 14-16
This task is made up of Part A and Part B. Part A is independent research into future design trends. Part B asks students to form small teams, and research an allocated design. The team will develop a presentation that they will deliver to the whole group.
This course is assessed for competency.
Grades which apply to competency based assessment are
CA - Competency Achieved
NYC - Not Yet Competent
DNS - Did Not Submit for Assessment
On time submission is an important factor in your assessment. Foundation skills (Employability) are embedded in the course and these include planning, organising and self management. For this reason, late work impacts on your overall grade for each assessment task.
