Course Description
In this unit you will develop the skills and knowledge required to follow organisational policies and procedures for safe work practice.
On completion of the unit you will have an understanding of the requirements for all employees under state and territory Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation, to participate in the management of their own health and safety, that of their colleagues and anyone else in the workplace.

Details of Learning Activities
Welcome to Contribute to workplace health and safety! This course is combined with all about working safely! Over the next 16 weeks we will meet each week to explore safe working practices.
Contribute to workplace health and safety is what is known as a "clustered course". In this course OHTH 5976C "Contribute to Workplace Safety" (National training Code SIRXWHS002) is delivered in combination with MKTG 8026C "Design and Install Merchandise Signage" (National training Code SIRRMER011). We call this combination of units - Propmaking . Both courses will be assessed as Competent/Not Yet Competent.
Learning activities will take place in a Virtual studio classroom using industry standard tools and resources.
You will also be required to undertake independent study.
Reference mode of delivery for this course is a blended approach
Virtual In-class activities will include:

Out-of-class activities will include:
• Online investigation
• Independent project based work
• Gallery/Exhibition visits
By the end of this course you should be able to create a range of signage and props, and have a solid grounding in working safely in the workplace.

This is a Vocational Education and Training qualification and is assessed for Competency. To be assessed as Competent means you have consistently demonstrated the required knowledge and skills at a standard required in the workplace. To be assessed as Competent in this course, you will need to complete each assessment task to a satisfactory standard. You will receive feedback from the teacher at the conclusion of each assessment task and receive either Satisfactory or Not Satisfactory (S/NS) outcome.
