Overview of Assessment
To be deemed competent you must demonstrate an understanding of all aspects required of the competency.
Regular attendance is necessary.
Assessment methods have been designed to measure your achievement of each competency in a flexible manner over multiple tasks and consist of theory and practical based tasks.
Assessment Tasks
Assessment requirements for this unit include:
- Written assessment to measure your underpinning knowledge
- Practical assessment unassisted in which you will be required to:
- show evidence of the ability to complete tasks outlined in elements and performance criteria of this unit, manage tasks and manage contingencies in the context of the job role.
There must be evidence that you have independently:
- read and correctly interpreted 4 work orders
- used standard precautions and safe work practices to fabricate maxillary and mandibular registration rims using a range of flexible and rigid base and rim material for the following dentitions (4 rims in total):
- partial with a combination of bounded and unbounded saddle areas
- edentulous - critically evaluated the 4 registration rims produced to meet technical laboratory and clinician requirements.
