This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to construct removable acrylic partial dentures.

To be assessed as Competent in this course, you will need to complete each assessment task to a satisfactory standard. You will receive feedback from the teacher at the conclusion of each assessment task.

Knowledge Assessment
This knowledge submission is to be completed outside of class hours.
Assessment must be researched, completed and submitted by the due date issued by assessor. The due date will be published on CANVAS.
Students will be required to log into CANVAS to submit their assessment paper prior to the due date.
Feedback will be provided via CANVAS and students will have the opportunity to resubmit any completed assessment that is deemed unsatisfactory (one re-submission is allowed per assessment task).
In order to achieve a Satisfactory result, students must complete ALL questions successfully on their re-submission.

Practical Assessment
This assessment is conducted at RMIT Dental Technology Simulated Laboratory rooms and student's knowledge and skills will be observed.
Detailed information will be provided to students via Canvas and during their class attendance.
In order to proceed with this assessment task, student must wear appropriate laboratory PPE and attire.
Students will attempt this assessment under supervision of the assessor and they will be marked with either “S” (Satisfactory) or “NYS“ (Not Yet Satisfactory) according to the assessment guidelines and criteria outlined in the HLTDET007 Assessment document.
All assessment criteria must be successfully completed in order to achieve a satisfactory result and students will receive verbal and written feedback.
