Course Description

In this course you will explore the skills and knowledge required to research information about legal compliance and ethical practice responsibilities, and then develop and monitor policies and procedures to meet those responsibilities

Introduction

Indigenous Human Rights

Legislation and rights - working with community

Legal requirements for community services work including: 

Equal opportunity, duty of care, confidentiality and privacy, Child safe work practices, using social media, complaints, responding to crisis etc

 

Week two

Legal and ethical responsibilities for clients, workers and the broader community in managing community services work

Work role boundaries 

Monitoring compliance with workplace legal and ethical requirements

Managing breaches of legal and ethical requirements in the workplace

 

Week three

Developing and communicating workplace polices and procedures

Monitoring compliance 

Maintaining knowledge of legal and ethical requirements for workplace practice

Review of content and support for assessment

Overview of Assessment
