Course Description
In this course you will explore different methods to develop networking skills and how to promote yourself to potential employers and/or clients. You will participate in relevant industry networks and learn how to maximise and maintain on-going industry relationships. You will develop the tools to enable you to negotiate work arrangements collaboratively, undertake planning, and develop an understanding and managing financial and business aspects on a freelance basis to negotiate a project brief.
This unit is delivered and assessed with PERF5199C (CUAIND412) Provide services on a freelance basis

Overview of Assessment
Assessment is ongoing throughout the course and will include a range of practical and theory components. Full assessment briefs will be provided and can be found on Canvas.
This is a Vocational Education and Training qualification and is assessed for Competency. To be assessed as Competent means you have consistently demonstrated the required knowledge and skills at a standard required in the workplace. To be assessed as Competent in this course, you will need to complete each assessment task to a satisfactory standard. You will receive feedback from the teacher at the conclusion of each assessment task.

Assessment Tasks
Assessment Task 1: Knowledge Questions - This assessment will allow you to demonstrate your understanding of how to establish business networks and provide freelance services within the fashion styling industry. Due Week 6.
Assessment Task 2: Networking -This assessment will require you to demonstrate the skills and knowledge to develop and maintain effective work relationships through the use of professional promotional materials and networking. This is an individual assessment task however, you will be required to work with a class peer. Due Week 10.
Assessment Task 3: Business Planning - In this assessment you will use your skills & knowledge to develop a business strategy plan and then apply your plan to financially manage a project from the negotiation stage to final review. Due Week 14.
