In this course you will gain the skills and knowledge required to install and manage enterprise-wide information and communications technology (ICT) networks.

This course is clustered for delivery and assessment with the following unit:

Details of Learning Activities

  1. Assess Initial Knowledge (Pre-Quiz in Week 1)
    • Students must complete a Pre-Quiz in Week 1 to help the instructor evaluate their prior understanding of complex ICT networks and key networking concepts.
    • This will provide a baseline to tailor the course content according to students' needs.
  2. Enhance Understanding Through Online Learning (LinkedIn Learning Videos)
    • After each class, students are required to watch the LinkedIn Learning videos provided in Canvas.
    • These resources will reinforce the weekly topics discussed during lectures and provide additional industry insights for better clarity.
  3. Hands-On Practical Learning (Packet Tracer Labs & Real Equipment)
    • During class, after the lecture, students will perform lab exercises in Packet Tracer to apply theoretical concepts in a simulated network environment.
    • Teacher Encouragement for Real Equipment:
      • The instructor will encourage students to perform PKT labs on real networking equipment as it provides deeper experience and insight into real-world industry applications.
      • This approach helps students understand how they will be working in professional environments.
      • However, working on real equipment is optional.
  4. Apply Learning in Assessments
    • After completing the Packet Tracer labs, students will implement their learning into assessments to demonstrate their ability to design, troubleshoot, and manage network infrastructures.
    • This ensures that students develop real-world problem-solving skills relevant to managing enterprise networks.
