Course Description

In this course you will learn the skills and knowledge required to integrate and balance overall project management functions and to align and track project objectives to comply with organisational goals, strategies and objectives.

Overview of Assessment

Assessment for this course is ongoing throughout the semester. Your knowledge and understanding of course content is assessed through participation in class exercises, oral/written presentations and through the application of learned skills and insights. Full assessment briefs will be provided and can be found on CANVAS.


Assessment Tasks

AT1: Written Questions

  • You must answer all questions and their parts correctly to achieve a satisfactory outcome for this task.

AT2A: Project Charter

  1. Prepare a draft Project Charter
  2. Participate in a meeting with the CEO (your assessor will play the role of Gavin Walsh, CEO)
  3. Update/revise Project Charter

AT2B: Develop and Negotiate Approval of Project Management Plan

  1. Develop a draft Project Management Plan (PMP)
  2. Facilitate a Project Team Meeting
  3. Update/revise Project Management Plan

AT3: Monitor Project

1. Facilitate a Project Team Meeting

2. Develop Project status report

3. Develop change request

4. Update the Project Issues Register

5. Send email to the CEO 

AT4A: Identify and Allocate Project Finalisation Activities

Send out an email to Project Team members to allocate project finalisation activities.

AT4B: Complete Final Report for Submission to Board

  1. When you have completed the report, send an email to Gavin Stead attaching the report. Your email should request feedback from the Board about the project.

AT5: Project Evaluation

Based on the information gathered, develop a Project Evaluation Report using the template provided.
