Course Description

In this course you will acquire the skills and knowledge required to maintain creative arts industry knowledge and monitor and manage own professional practice. This includes applying industry knowledge to research-based work activities, when interacting with others, and when engaging in professional practice in the music industry.

Overview of Assessment

Assessment for this course is ongoing throughout the semester. Your knowledge and understanding of course content is assessed through participation in class exercises, oral/written presentations and through the application of learned skills and insights. Full assessment briefs will be provided and can be found on CANVAS.


Assessment Tasks

Students enrolled in Vocational Education and Training qualifications are assessed for Competency.  To be assessed as competent, you have consistently demonstrated the required knowledge and skills at a standard expected in the workplace. To be assessed as competent in this course, you will need to complete each assessment task to a satisfactory standard. You will receive feedback from the teacher at the conclusion of each assessment task.

You should refer to the assessment brief which is available through Canvas for full assessment criteria

Assignment 1: Produce a written research report on a creative industry organisation including at least two creative bodies/associations

This written report is one of two assessment tasks you need to complete satisfactorily, to be deemed competent for this unit. In this assessment task you will conduct research into the creative arts industry by answering a series of questions.

Due week 16, semester 2 (course week 6)

Assignment 2: Participate in the creative arts industry

This practical assessment and report is the second (and final) of two assessment tasks you need to complete satisfactorily, to be deemed competent for this unit. The task involves completing two (2) participation activities and a report.

Due week 17, semester 2 (course week 7)
