Course Description

This course develops concept mapping, charting and storyboarding skills. It includes an introduction to the use of visual imagery and develops the technical ability to create basic digital story prototypes.

Learning Outcomes

1. Write, select and apply text and scanned images and print out in storyboard sequence
2. Plan and develop interactive script, present interactive flowcharts and navigational structure for development
3. Write and record short voice-overs or utilise sound effects/music and apply to an interactive environment containing digital imagery
4. Create characters for digital media prototypes using visual signs including metaphors, symbols, objects and icons
5. Demonstrate historical and cultural influences of symbols and visual metaphors in digital media production.
