Course Description

Students will develop their skills to implement and manage security functions on the network
Students will be enrolled into the Cisco Networking Academy Program and use its extensive online curriculum resources with web based content, online assessment, student performance tracking, hands-on labs and preparation for industry standard certifications. This course will be delivered using the Academy’s CCNA curriculum.

Details of Learning Activities

Students will learn how to use a variety of tools to monitor and combat network security threats. They will plan, implement and test solutions that use a variety of techniques to minimize network harm due to these threats.

ICND is taught using the Cisco Networking Academy Program modules CCNA3 and CCNA4.

Overview of Assessment

The student must demonstrate an understanding of all elements of a particular competency to be deemed competent.
Assessment will incorporate a variety of methods including online or written tests, a Skills Test which covers skills acquired in lab activities and a final online theory exam.
