Learning Outcomes


On completion of this unit you have the skills and knowledge required to comply with infection control policies and procedures. All procedures must be carried out in accordance with current infection control guidelines, Australia and New Zealand Standards for maintaining infection control and the policies and procedures of the organisation.

Inclusion in the Practise Manual of the policies and procedures in infection control that address all performance criteria.

Perform elements of competence and performance criteria as designated for this unit of competency to the required standard consistently across a range of variables in the clinical environment.

Infection control assignment to indicate acquisition of underpinning knowledge


Assessment Matrix

Inclusion in the Practise Manual of the policies and procedures in infection control that address all performance criteria. 10%
Consistent clinical demonstration of all performance criteria across a wide range of variables. 70%
Assignment (student has to competently answer at least 70% of the total number of questions) 20%
