This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to establish, maintain and evaluate the organisation’s occupational health and safety (OHS) policies, procedures and programs in the relevant work area in accordance with OHS legal requirements

Details of Learning Activities
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to establish, maintain and evaluate the organisation’s occupational health and safety (OHS) policies, procedures and programs in the relevant work area in accordance with OHS legal requirements.
This unit consists of the following learning and assessment activities:
• Formal lectures / Master classes
• Class discussion on case studies
• Out of class OH&S inspections of venues and work places
* Involvement in Live sound production event
* Online communication and interaction

These sesions will be augmented by weekly asynchronous course content delivery, communications and feedback via Google+ Community.
Google Community site will contain class resources, and will be supported by additional resources stored on Blackboard

Assessment in this course is ongoing and will include class particiaption and practical tasks.
Assessment Tasks
To demonstrate competency in this course you will need to complete the following assessment to a satisfactory standard.
You will receive feedback on all assessment and where indicated, you will receive a grade. Graded assessment tasks are equally weighted and will determine your final result for this course.
ASSESMENT
Assessment is made during the pre production and production of a series of live production events staged through semester 2.

1) JSA
You will provide a JSA report of the venue to identify risks / hazards and technical issues & requirements.

2) QUESTIONNAIRE
You will complete a knowledge test on OHS practices and regulations

3) REVIEW LOG
You will provide a review of the event and your role in the event, identifying successes and challenges

You must submit all pieces of assessment in order for your competency to be assessed in this course.
Assessment tasks in this unit are either ungraded or graded. Ungraded tasks provide the basis for ongoing feedback and can be considered as essential building blocks for more substantial (graded) assessment tasks.

Attendance
The major learning experience involves studio based exercises, demonstration and production. It is strongly advised that students attend all sessions in order to engage in the required learning activities, ensuring the maximum opportunity to gain the competency. Non-attendance may seriously jeopardise the chances of success in a course. Clearly, non-attendance at an assessment will result in failure of that assessment. Where visa conditions apply, attendance is compulsory.
