Course Description
This unit covers development, installation and testing of programs for an industrial system requiring advance control functions. It encompasses working safely, using structure logic, acceptable design techniques, applying knowledge of high level instructions, and documenting development and programming activities.

Students will participate in a variety of teaching methods including: lectures, tutorials, practicals, class discussion, group/individual work on projects, audio-visual presentations, and interaction with individuals and groups within the Electrotechnology area.
It is expected that students will require at least 3 hours per week for independent study (in addition to the scheduled sessions) to do program development work.

Assessment Tasks
You are required to complete the following three assessment tasks:
1. Project 1 (15%) - Weeks 6 - 8
2. Project 2 (35%) - Weeks 9 - 17
3. Practical Test (50%) - Week 17
All assessment tasks need to be successfully completed to demonstrate competence.
