Course Description

In this unit you will gain an understanding of intellectual property rights, with a focus on the creative industries. You will also investigate how to develop strategies to maintain and protect your own and your studio’s intellectual property.

1.5 Conduct a cost-benefit analysis of protecting intellectual property and determine risks
1.6 Identify and use appropriate intellectual property professionals to initiate processes to protect intellectual property, according to the type of intellectual property protection required

Overview of Assessment

Assessment is on-going throughout the course. Assessment tasks will require you demonstrate the application of knowledge and skills through practical projects and/or written tasks. Assessment tasks are:

  • Research Project 1 (50% of final grade)
  • Design Project 1 (50% of final grade)
