Course Description

This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to insert, alter and issue a completed removable dental prosthesis for dentate and edentulous patients. 

This unit applies to work in dental prosthetics.

Assessment 1 . Clinical placement / Dental clinic (Recorded in log book and titanium )  min .-4 patients  / 2 dentate ,  2 edentulous ,  also a reline /  re base  and a repair and /or addition to existing dentures 

Assessment 2 . Case Histories (Recorded from titanium and also from log book  )   Hard copies completed of clinical pts . .and used in class discussions .(clinical based scenarios )

Assessment 3 . Written knowledge assessment  / case scenarios to exhibit critical thinking and problem solving abilities .
