Details of Learning Activities
Plan myotherapy treatment strategy is taught and assessed within the Myotherapy student clinic (RMIT city campus 51.07.03).
The students are to attend one 3 hour clinic shift per week. During this clinic shift they perform Myotherapy treatment on clients from the general public. All clinic sessions are supervised by Myotherapists
Teaching Schedule
Myotherapy teaching clinic schedules are available on the timetable (Canvas).
Each student must complete 1 allocated 3 hour shift in the Myotherapy student clinic per week as well as Work Integrated Learning (WIL) placement activities as rostered.

To be deemed competent you must demonstrate an understanding of all aspects required of the competency. Assessment methods have been designed to measure your achievement of each competency in a flexible manner over multiple tasks.
Assessment Tasks
Assessment Task 1- Clinic Observation
For this assessment the student is required to complete four (4) treatments, with four (4) separate clients on four (4)
separate occasions.
Allocated time for the assessment will be 50 minutes, this is in line with clinic guidelines for providing treatment to a client.
The student will be observed undertaking the following;
- conducting an initial meeting with the client
- consulting with the Assessor to evaluate their treatment strategy
- treating the client
- evaluating the treatment strategy
- working within a myotherapy framework
This assessment task will to be conducted and assessed on four (4) separate occasions
Assessment Task 2- Client File Management
For this assessment the student is required to complete client files (clinical records) for four (4) clients on four (4) separate occasions
The client’s files may include; Client History Form, Initial Consultation Form and Follow up Consultation Form.
Allocated time for the assessment will be 50 minutes, this is in line with clinic guidelines for providing treatment to a client.
The student’s clinical records must reflect the relevant information captured at each of the various stages of the session including;
- conducting an initial meeting with the client
- consulting with the Assessor to evaluate their treatment strategy
- treating the client
- evaluating the treatment strategy
- working within a myotherapy framework
This assessment task will to be conducted and assessed on four (4) separate occasions
Assessment Task 3- Knowledge Assessment
For this knowledge assessment task you are required to answer 19 questions which relate to working within a
Myotherapy framework and Planning Myotherapy treatment strategy.
This assessment will be conducted out of class during your own time and will be available on Canvas under the assessment
tab
Students must also complete a minimum of 75 clinical hours and 30 Myotherapy treatments of varying clients and conditions
