Course Description

This unit covers performing work ethically and competently, making judgements about work priorities and information requirements to achieve effective working relationships and engineering outcomes.

Cluster Information:

This course is delivered in a cluster (Manage Self in the Engineering Environment MEM22002A- (EMPL5873C)) in conjunction with MSMENV272 (EASC5074C). You must enrol in these two courses delivered in this cluster. All the learning and assessment activities will include the components of all competencies of MEM22002A and MSMENV272.

Overview of Assessment

The assessment is conducted in both theoretical and practical aspects of the course according to the performance criteria set in the National Training Package. Assessment may incorporate a variety of methods including written/oral activities and demonstration of practical skills to the relevant industry standards. Participants are advised that they are likely to be asked to personally demonstrate their assessment activities to their teacher/assessor. Feedback will be provided throughout the course. Assessment Tasks

Assessment 1: SWMS Assessment (Week 4)

Students must complete an environmental survey and SWMS report of an RMIT work space.

Assessment 2: Group Assignment-Sustainable Buildings (Week 14)

Students must complete a group assignment whereby they must design a sustainable / energy efficient building

This course will be assessed as Competent or Not Yet Competent. To successfully complete this course, students will be required to demonstrate competency in each assessment task.
