In this course you will learn the skills and knowledge required to coordinate recording of dialogue and sound effects on location for screen productions.

Assessment for this course is ongoing throughout the semester. Your knowledge and understanding of course content is assessed through participation in class exercises, oral/written presentations and through the application of learned skills and insights. To demonstrate competency in this course you will need to complete the following assessment tasks to a satisfactory standard. You will receive feedback on all assessments and once you have demonstrated competency you will also receive a result after your final assessment task.
Assessment Tasks
Assessment Task 1: Sound Recording for Video - Practical Assessment
Completing this assessment exercise will allow you to demonstrate the skills and knowledge required to plan and
execute the production and technical requirements for location sound recording for broadcast.
After determining and planning the relevant production and technical requirements you will perform the task of
location sound recording using an E.N.G. sound kit. Video will be shot using student smartphones. After working in
small groups for the location sound recording part of the assignment in which you will record your individual sound
files, you will work individually on the post-production/final mix phase before submitting your finished video on Canvas
for assessment.

Assessment Task 2: Knowledge Assessment Quiz
This assessment exercise is designed to assess your knowledge of a number of specific technical and production
aspects of location sound recording.
