Course Description
This course describes the skills and knowledge required to develop an overall sound design. This involves clarifying a sound design brief and identifying components of sound required, then generating ideas for and developing a sound design to present to required personnel.

Overview of Assessment
Assessment for this course is ongoing throughout the semester. Your knowledge and understanding of course content is assessed through participation in class exercises, oral/written presentations and through the application of learned skills and insights. Full assessment briefs will be provided and can be found on CANVAS.
Assessment Tasks
AT01 Prepare a sound design
You are to develop a sound design brief that will instruct a sound designer to develop a sound design for your project.
Due week 4
AT02 Sound for animation
You are to design sound for the animation provided to you. Working in a group you must produce a sound design that uses ONLY the objects in the foley box.
Due week 10
AT03 Sound for a game
You will design the sound for another student’s independent project that they will be developing in other classes. This will demonstrate your ability to conceive of, break down, experiment with, finalise and evaluate a sound design for an individual audio visual piece of work.
Due week 13
AT04 Sound for independent project
You are to design sound for the Realise production designs project. You will design the sound for another student's project that they will be developing in other classes.
