Course Description
The unit of competency Access the Internet (ICPMM63BA) is delivered alongside the unit of competency Design and Develop Text Documents (BSBADM304A) .
Together, these units of competency form the course Computer Skills for Writers. In this course you are introduced to the Macintosh computer; the Microsoft Word word processing program, online editing techniques and basic desktop publishing techniques. This course will increase your ability to create, format, edit and distribute professional-looking print and online documents.

Other Resources
Web-based material via electronic blackboard, weekly work sheets, and handouts are made available as required. Students will require a USB flash drive on which to backup their work. A capacity of at least 2 GB is recommended.

Assessment for this course is ongoing throughout the semester. Your knowledge and understanding of course content is assessed through participation in series of in-class exercises, through the creation of a range of documents and through practical projects

Access the Internet is delivered and assessed together with Design and Develop Text Documents. To demonstrate competency in this course, you will need to complete all class exercises and the following pieces of assessment to a satisfactory standard. You will receive feedback on all assessment and grades for the 4 assignments..
