Course Description

This unit is concerned with infection control responsibilities of employees with supervisory accountability to implement and monitor infection control policy and procedures in a specific work unit or team within an organisation

This unit does not apply to a role with organisationwide responsibilities for infection control policy and procedure development, implementation or monitoring

A combination of learning activities will support student’s learning in this unit, such as

Teaching Schedule

This unit is scheduled for delivery for the Certificate IV in Dental Assisting, as per timetable issued on Induction Day and are located on BlackBoard. The classes are delivered on Level 3 or 2 of Building154(within the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne). The timetable may be subject to change at the discretion of RMIT, in this event notification will be provided to your student email).

To achieve a grade of CA (Competency achieved) for the unit HLTIN403C Implement and monitor infection control policy and procedures, you are required to obtain a pass result for all of the following theoretical and practical assessments.

Failure to complete any of the above listed tasks/assessments will result in an NYC (Not yet competent) for unit HLTIN403C Implement and monitor infection control policy and procedures. An NYC result will be entered in the student record. This will result in non-completion of this unit of competence required re-enrolment incurring fees and are turn to class work and completion of any relevant assessments at the time of the re-enrolment.

(The assessments process must be finalised and a result entered by the end of the RMIT enrolment for the unit HLTIN403C Implement and monitor infection control policy and procedures).
