Course Description
This course describes the skills and knowledge required to work with the community to develop relevant and effective resources to engender community support for initiatives aimed at specific groups.
This course applies to workers in both health and community sectors and/or a community development work context. Workers at this level will be part of a professional team and under the guidance of a supervisor.

Details of Learning Activities
There will be a range of learning activities to engage students with course material to develop the skills and knowledge required to work with the community to develop community resources. The learning activities will be interactive and will include: group work activities, peer learning, discussions, guest speakers, reflective learning, and practice learning exercises.

Assessment Task 1: Develop a Community Project Plan

You will be given two (2) attempts for each assessment to demonstrate the required knowledge and skills. A third (3rd) attempt can only be offered after discussions between teacher and the Program Coordinator and is not automatic. Resubmissions beyond two (2) attempts are at the discretion of the teacher and/or coordinator.
Assessment Tasks
Assessment Task 1: This assessment task requires you to work individually and as part of team to plan the delivery of a community project that involves the development of a project plan. This task will enable you to demonstrate your knowledge and skills to assess community resource requirements, develop a community project and an information base.
Assessment Task 2: This assessment task requires you to work individually and as part of team to develop, promote and deliver a community resource planned for in Assessment Task 1. This task will enable you to demonstrate your knowledge and skills to develop an information base, develop community resources and deliver a community project by facilitating access to the resource.
Assessment Task 3: This assessment task requires you to work individually and as part of team to review the project planned for and delivered in Assessments Tasks 1 and 2 by analysing feedback, reflecting on processes and performance to measure effectiveness and determine outcomes. This task will enable you to demonstrate your knowledge and skills to review a community project.
Assessment Task 4: The purpose of this assessment task is for you to demonstrate your knowledge of key concepts and techniques related to community projects and resources.
