Course Description
This unit covers the skills and knowledge required to develop patterns for custom-made footwear designs.
The unit of competency applies to making patterns for custom-made shoes and may involve the selection and modification of existing patterns. Design specifications may be workplace or client initiated. Assessment Tasks
Assessment Task 1 – Knowledge Questions: This assessment task allows you to demonstrate your knowledge required to develop patterns for custom-made footwear, measure, cut and sew custom-made shoe components and assemble and finish custom-made shoes. Due Weeks 3, 7,11 & 15.
Assessment Task 2 – Make Patterns for Custom-Made Footwear: This practical assessment will allow you to demonstrate your ability to develop patterns for custom-made footwear designs for a full range of leathers and other appropriate textiles and materials.. Due Weeks 4, 8 & 12
Assessment Task 3 – Measure, cut and sew custom-made shoe components: This practical assessment will allow you to demonstrate your ability to measure, cut and sew custom-made shoe components. Due Weeks 4, 5, 7, 8 & 9.
Assessment Task 4 – Finish custom-made shoes: This practical assessment will allow you to demonstrate your ability to assemble and finish custom-made shoes. Due Weeks 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16.
