Course Description

This course will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to support the management of low risk, straight forward Information and Communications Technology (ICT) projects within an organisation.

This course is clustered for delivery and assessment with the following unit:

On successful completion of this course the candidate will demonstrate the ability to complete the tasks outlined in the elements, performance criteria and foundation skills of this unit.

  • Online lectures and discussion.
  • Class (face-to-face) practical work, discussion and demonstration.
  • Knowledge quizzes assessment to understand the importance of work collaboratively within the ICT industry and importance to support small scale ICT projects in industry.
  • Practical assessments (individual and group work as per given case study, how to work collaboratively within the ICT industry and how to support small scale ICT projects in industry).
  • Analytical thinking for ICT projects includes initiating, planning, executing, monitoring/controlling, and closing phases.
  • Preparation and discussion of different ICT project tools such as Charter, WBS, Gantt Chart, Budget, Resource Allocations, Risk Analysis etc. during the above five phases of ICT project lifecycle.
  • Use of Online Collaborative Tool for work collaboratively during ICT project.
  • Group work discussions
  • Extensive research work for different ICT projects execution.
  • Individual and group project tasks, and discussions.
  • Demonstration tasks and discussions.
