Course Description
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to work with basic information about the human body and to recognise and promote ways to maintain healthy functioning of the body.
This unit applies to any worker who needs to use and interpret information that includes references to client anatomy and physiology.

Details of Learning Activities
This course will be delivered as a face to face teaching course.A combination of activities will support students learning in this course, such as:
- Face to face lectures to cover theoretical and practical concepts for each topic in the course. The students will be provided with self-study materials as well.
- Tutorial activities to discuss, debate, critique and consolidate your ideas and extend your understanding around key concepts within specific topics.
- To further facilitate learning, students are strongly encouraged to use a range of communication tools between themselves and their course instructor as well as between themselves and fellow students .
Teaching Schedule
The course will be delivered face to face in the class room and the schedule will be provided through Timetable system. Each group will have their schedules classes, please check your timetable for the class details.
The content of this course has been broken up into modules to assist your learning. You can choose to engage with the content and review skills and processes as much as you require during the course. We expect you to complete the learning and activities regularly as completed in the class.
Throughout the course, you will have the opportunity to participate in discussions with your teacher and other students in the class.

Overview of Assessment
Assessments may include any of the following:

Assessment Tasks
Students enrolled in Vocational Education and Training qualifications are assessed for Competency. To be assessed as Competent means you have consistently demonstrated the required knowledge and skills at a standard expected in the workplace. To be assessed as "Competent" in this course, you will need to complete each assessment task to a satisfactory standard. You will receive feedback from the teacher at the conclusion of each assessment task. Every task must be completed satisfactorily for competence to be achieved. Resubmissions are at the discretion of the teacher and/or coordinator. You should refer to the assessment brief which is available through Canvas for full assessment criteria and due dates.
There are four assessment tasks that you must successfully complete in full in order to be deemed competent in this unit:
This assessment task allows you to demonstrate your knowledge of healthy body systems, common issues affecting body systems, and ways to promote healthy functioning of the body.
When you open the assessments from the links in the assessment page, they will open in a new window.
You can complete the assessment tasks in your own time and submit but they must all be submitted by their respective due dates
The students will receive satisfactory/ not yet satisfactory result for each assessment task. The students can receive Competency achieved/ Not yet competent result for this competency.
The details about the assessments will be posted on canvas.
Results that apply to courses that are delivered and assessed in accordance with competency-based assessment are:

SEC: Stopped engagement in course
Resubmissions
For each assessment you will be given up to two (2) attempts, however, to be granted the second attempt at any assessment, your first attempt must be an appropriate attempt to try and gain a satisfactory outcome. For example, you must appropriately attempt each question or aspect of the assessment task. If your first attempt fails to meet the above standard, you may not be eligible for a second attempt at that task. A third (3rd) attempt can only be offered after discussions between teacher and the Program Coordinator and is not automatic.
The students are required to receive satisfactory result in each task to receive a competency achieved result for this unit.
To be assessed as Competent in this course, you will need to complete each assessment task to a satisfactory standard. You will receive feedback from the teacher at the conclusion of each assessment task.
USE OF AI TOOLS IN THE ASSESSMENTS-
AI tools cannot be used in the completion of any of the above assessment tasks.
In these assessment tasks, you must not use any AI tools (excluding text editing software e.g., Grammarly) to generate any materials, content or ideas related to the task.

Extensions of time for submission of assessable work:
If you are prevented from submitting an assessment on time by circumstances outside your control you may apply for an extension of up to seven (7) calendar days by applying through CANVAS - Assessment Extension tab.
