Course Description
Provides the learner with the knowledge and skills in estimating the construction cost and in preparing a bid (tendering) for a low rise residential project.

Learning Outcomes
This course will provide the learner to develop knowledge & skills and able to:
• Calculate cost and charge out rate for labour and contracting plant with reference to the awards, records and agreements.
• Compute and provide unit rates for trade work from existing records,
• Price and extend a quantity take-off with reference to industry pricing data.
• Compute values for preliminaries and overheads.
• Identify and collate supplementary costs.
• Describe the procedures for pre-contract and pre-purchasing details related to seeking a quotation, cost rates, charges and discounts.
• Prepare a quotation/tender submission for a client in standard industry formats.
