Course Description
The purpose of this course is to provide participants with the skills and knowledge required to analyse contemporary art and/or design movements/directions including public art, hybrid art, multimedia and computer generated art.

Learning Outcomes

Overview of Assessment
1. Design DNA - A presentation format which expresses which elements of design and art have influenced the Learner to embark on a design career
2. 20th Century furniture designer - project:
Part A - A research report with illustrations identifying the work, context and methods employed by the designer. Also, students will assess the Part B which has been completed by another student in terms of their ability to identify, interpret and apply the artist’s methods.
Part B - Develop a series of concepts of furniture based on the student’s interpretations of the artist research report. Duration: one session in house activity. Also the student will assess the Part A, which has been completed by another student, in terms of their ability to identify, describe, and communicate.
