Course Description
In this unit students will learn the skills and knowledge required to provide information about occupational health and safety policies, practices, and hazard and risk control.

Details of Learning Activities
In addition to lectures, students will have the opportunity to partiipate in risk management film location field study; demonstrations of ’control’ including PPE, engineering and procedural controls; and case studies of past film accidents.
Classes comprise five classroom sessions.

Orientation.week.
Week 1 - Risk management - hazards and risks. Scoring of risks. Presentation of first assessmenty report. Field trip.
Week 2 - Case studies tutorial - 2+ actual film/TV/stage accidents. Categories of hazards reviewed (procedural, human, physical, engineering)
Week 3 - Classroom demonstration of range of controls: engineering; PPE.
Week 4 - Case studies of range of controls: procedural; human factors.
Week 5 - Review of course. Presentation of second (final) assessment report.
