Course Description
This course covers the skills and knowledge required for the construction of blocks to make patterns for use in garment production processes within an enterprise.

Learning Outcomes
In this unit class activities relate to:
1. Identifying program functions relevant to pattern grading
2. Inputting grade values into computer system
3. Applying grade values to pattern shapes in the computer
4. Recognising and rectifying grading faults
5. Preparing computer images for marker making
6. Identifying Program Functions relevant to marker making
7. Creating lay markers to required specifications
8. Obtaining hard copies to check pattern shapes, garments and markers
Overview of Assessment
Assessment will include: Progressive assessments/class exercises, assignment/project, simulated workplace activities
Tasks that have not been authenticated in class as the student’s own work will not be considered for assessment. Regular attendance is necessary to demonstrate that you can:
1. Develop grading specifications
2. Input pattern data into the computer system
3. Retrieve and process data
4. Identify program functions relevant to pattern grading
5. Input grade values/Apply grade values to pattern shapes
6. Recognise & rectify input grading faults
7. Obtain hard copies to check grading
8. Prepare graded patterns for marker making
9. Develop marker making specifications
10. Input marker making data into computer system
11. Lay markers
12. Obtain hard copies to check complete
