Threading Hook, Reed Hook, Shuttle Sticks (2) (these can be purchased in first class). This equipment is also used in the Unit PRODUCE WOVEN TEXTILE SAMPLES and as the courses are delivered concurrently the equipment can be used in both classes.
Overview of Assessment
To achieve successful completion of this course students must demonstrate an understanding of all elements of competency. Assessment tasks have been designed to measure achievement of each competency in a flexible manner. Assessment will incorporate a variety of methods including recording all technical documentation in a workbook and checklists completed by the class teacher during class exercises. Students will be awarded a grade only if competency has been demonstrated within the standard enrolment period on the first assessment attempt. Units assessed as ‘not yet competent’ on a first assessment attempt and ‘competent’ on a second or subsequent attempt are to have results amended to competent but are not eligible for grading. Students are advised that they are likely to be asked to personally demonstrate their assessment work to their teacher. All work must be submitted by the due date. Late submission will not be graded higher than a PASS.
Assessment Tasks
This Unit is assessed as Competent/Not Yet Compenent and is not graded.
There following assessment tasks are used within this course:
Checklist: Students are observed during classes to ensure learning tasks are completed. Feedback is provided from the supervisor. Students are monitored throughout the Term on their knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety requirements of the weave studio.
Technical File: Production records and other documentation are recorded in a Technical Workbook.
Further detail regarding Competency Based Assessment will be provided in class.
