Course Description
This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to establish the estimated costs associated with the acquisition of materials and labour on building and construction sites, together with the application of relevant overhead costs and margins. Knowledge of physical resource and supplier identification, assessment of the availability of and requirements for skilled labour and application of appropriate codes, regulations and approvals gaining processes is essential.

Students will learn through a number of planned activities (face to face classes, simulated workplace learning, online learning via CANVAS and other forms of structured teaching and learning). Assessment Tasks
Assessment 1
Formative assessment activities are to be completed by the student and achieve a satisfactory (S) grade. This assessment result will not be considered for the final grading of the student.
Assessment 2
A summative portfolio based assessment shall be completed and includes individual elements to complete within the assessment.
Assessment 3
A summative portfolio based assessment shall be completed and includes individual elements to complete within the assessment.
Assessment 2 and 3 are equally weighted. All portfolio activities under Assessment 2 and 3 are equally weighted. Both feedback from Assessment 2 and 3 will be considered for the final grading of the student.
