Other Information
Various assessment tools will be used during the delivery of this unit and clinical placements. Each assessment must be graded as competent for an overall competency grade for this unit.
Students are to refer to the RMIT website and orientation handouts for student information regarding requests for extension, special consideration and reasonable adjustment. Students are to be familiar with all assessment process listed below.
The following links contain information such as how/when to apply, the right type of application, documentation to complete, timeframes and other process requirements;
Requests for extension http://www.rmit.edu.au/browse;ID=8r23xxpe4fne
Special consideration http://www.rmit.edu.au/students/specialconsideration
Reasonable adjustment http://www.rmit.edu.au/browse;ID=kehn9bz22r41
Also refer to Support Services at http://www.rmit.edu.au/browse;ID=jas1bocqq6h9 for additional information or assistance. Remember that assistance is also available by keeping in contact with the unit teacher and/or program coordinator including notifying them of any issues or problems as early as possible. This is especially the case as soon as the ability to complete an assessment by the due date/s are not possible due to factors beyond control.
It is important to note that the submission of applications for requests for extension, special consideration and/or reasonable adjustment does NOT lead to being automatically granted. Some timeframes limit acceptance of applications eg. special considerations MUST be lodged prior to or within 48 hours of the scheduled assessment time and/or assessment due date.
Student Competency CHANGE
In the event of the student achieving a NYC (Not Yet Competent) result in an assessment item, the student MAY be given ONE (1) opportunity to resubmit the assessment. However, resubmission opportunities are granted at the discretion of the Program Coordinator. In the event of the student achieving a second NYC (Not Yet Competent) result, the student will be graded as NYC for the assessment item and will be deemed NYC for the unit of competency. Re-enrolment incurring fees, a possible return to class work and completion of any assessment tasks relevant at the time of the re-enrolment would be required to complete the unit of competency.
Plagiarism
RMIT University requires that you present only YOUR work for assessment. Plagiarism is a form of cheating. It is the presentation of the work or idea of another person without appropriate referencing, as though it is your own. Plagiarism is NOT acceptable. Penalties can include charges of academic misconduct, cancellation of results and exclusion from your course. It is also a disciplinary offence to allow your work to be plagiarised by another student. When you submit work on blackboard under your logon, you are declaring that the work is your own and not plagiarised. Further information can be found at http://www.rmit.edu.au/browse;ID=kkc202lwe1yv
