Course Description
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to create and present to a client 3D surface models using advanced computer aided design techniques and computer technologies.

Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this course, you will have developed and applied the skills and knowledge required to demonstrate your competency in the above elements.
The application of this unit in the workplace sees an individual designer using computer aided design systems to create 3D surface models in response to a brief and presenting the model to the client. This work would usually be carried out independently although guidance would be available if required.
Details of Learning Activities
Learning activities will take place in a CAD room using industry standard resources. You will complete exercises and industry relevant projects. You will also be required to undertake independent study to complete assignments outside class time.
In class activities may include:

• Analysis/critique of relevant material
• Student presentations with Teacher and Peer feedback and review

The ability to create 3D surface models using computeraided design systems in response to a brief using advanced skills and high-end application and which:
• demonstrates a command of advanced skills to create surface models
• demonstrates a command of using high-end technology
• demonstrates a sound knowledge of brief interpretation
• demonstrates problem solving skills
• demonstrates communication and presentation skills
