In this course you will learn the building blocks of a small business, and how to build a Business Plan for a new venture. We will explore all of the key elements that make up a business and discuss all of the considerations a business owner has to understand.

Assessment Tasks
Assessment Task 1: Feasibility Study
The main objective of this unit is to provide you with the skills required for researching and developing a business plan, in order to achieve business goals and objectives as a building designer. This assessment has been divided into two separate tasks which you will undertake individually, to support your understanding of the business planning process. This will enable you to complete the final business plan at the end of the course. Utilising your design thinking and problem solving skills you will develop a creative but critical plan for starting and maintaining your small building design practice. To get you off to a good start you will submit a brief statement to your teacher in Week 5 on Canvas to discuss and approve your proposed small business idea. All tasks are to be completed individually.
Assessment Task 2: The Business Plan
